Brian is running as a Republican for the House of Delegates to represent the people of Monongalia County. He is a lifelong resident of Morgantown, WV. He is the fourth generation of Polish immigrants that moved to West Virginia to work in the coal mines in the 1920s. Coal miners go reach back four generations in the Kurcaba line.
Brian comes from a long line of family members that know what hard work means. Brian’s dad, George Kurcaba, has been a postal carrier in Morgantown for over 30 years. Brian’s mom, Carol Kurcaba, has worked at WVU for over 20 years and is currently working in the Creative Arts Center.
Brian is no stranger to hard work himself. He graduated from MHS in 1994 and from WVU in 1998 with a BA in Psychology and in 2000 with a Masters Degree in Labor Relations. He has worked as a financial advisor for 11 years serving the needs of investors in the greater Morgantown area.
Brian has fallen in love with the people from the area and has learned to appreciate people from all walks of life.
Brian is married to Tara Michael Kurcaba. Tara graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in 1994 and in 1998 with a degree in Business Administration from WVU. Brian and Tara have three children together, Audrey age 8, Faith age 2 and Brian II the infant. Brian’s passions include his family, his Christian faith, fly fishing, and fitness.
Brian loves West Virginia, its people, and its natural resources and wants to see the state be positioned well to prosper in the future.
